The Format

A festival you walk through, not into.

FIKTIVA runs as a "parcours" — a guided route through Düsseldorf's Old Town where screenings, video installations, performance and theatre interrupt the everyday city. Admission is free and there's no age or social barrier to entry: passersby become part of the audience whether they planned to or not.

Without imagination there is no art. — Festival guiding principle
